Brian C. Lokken, 67, of La Crosse, Wis., died Friday, March 28, 2014, in Benedictine Manor, La Crosse, Wis. He was born in La Crosse, Wis., on Feb. 1, 1947, to Clarence and Norma (Finstad) Lokken.

Brian attended Central High School and graduated, Class of 65. He enlisted into the US Navy on Mar. 10, 1967 and served in Vietnam. He was a medic between the US Navy and the US Marines. Brian was injured and was exposed to Agent Orange. He was a very Proud Member of the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52, and the Thomas Rooney VFW Post 1531, in La Crosse, Wis. He received military Medals and Decorations plus he earned a Purple Heart for his service to his country. He was very proud of them.

Brian was loved by all his family and friends; Fran Hegenbarth and Terry Ritter, also by his wonderful cousins., Judy DeLap and Dick Krause, Marcia and Clar Brodt of La Crosse, Wis., Lee Mickel of Milwaukee, Wis., Loren Celley and Lynn of Madison, Wis. and Lillian of Seattle, Wash.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Clarence Lokken. Brian was also preceded in death by his Aunts and Uncles, and two cousins, Karen Lokken Nelson and Alger Olson, and special friend Kathy Brindley.

Brian was loved by all who knew him. He was a very special person. We will miss you Brian! The family also wants to thank Benedictine Manor for the wonderful care he received at the nursing home, and a Thank you to everyone that works there!

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 4, 2014, in the Chapel at Benedictine Manor, 2902 East Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. Tom Meyer will officiate with burial with military rites by the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52, and the Thomas Rooney VFW Post 1531, to be held in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of services in the Chapel in Benedictine Manor on Friday.

The Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials are preferred to the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52, and the Thomas Rooney VFW Post 1531, in La Crosse, Wis.
