Claire Rose Walz, 5 weeks and 4 days old, of LaCrosse died Sunday, July 15, 2018, very unexpectedly. She was born June 6, 2018, in LaCrosse, WI, to Susan Walz and Adrianus Theunisse.

She is survived by her mother, Susan Walz; father, Adrianus Theunisse; sisters Alexandra and Julia Walz; brothers Garrett and Oliver Theunisse; grandmother Donna Walz; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Baby Claire was preceded in death by grandfather Allen Walz, aunt Elizabeth Walz, uncle Jeffery Walz, and cousin Jamie Walz.

In Baby Claire’s short life, she touched the lives of her family and those around her deeply. She was often called Beautiful Baby Blue Eyes and Sweet Baby Sister and was constantly smothered with hugs and kisses. She was an extremely content baby girl who loved to be talked to at length and to sit in on family prayers, wide eyed and listening contently. Baby Claire Rose was a beautifully content angel.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. S., LaCrosse. There will be the Divine Mercy Chaplet prayed at 6 p.m.  Thursday morning, July 19, 2018, the Sacrament of Penance will be available from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1032 Caledonia St., LaCrosse, followed by visitation again from 10 to 11 a.m., and a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11 a.m. We will have the Holy Rosary commence at 10 a.m. The Rev. James Altman will officiate, with burial to be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in LaCrosse.
