CHAMBERLAIN, Daniel A.

Daniel A. Chamberlain, 27, lost his life on May 19, 2017.  He was born April 2, 1990, at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare to Mark and Minda Chamberlain.  Dan was baptized, received first Holy Communion and was confirmed at Blessed Sacrament Church.  He attended Blessed Sacrament School and then Aquinas Middle and High Schools, graduating in 2008.  He went to UW-Eau Claire and eventually attended Madison Media Institute, where he hoped to pursue his passion for creating music.

As a young child, Dan could never hold still and was always smiling.  He had a wide circle of friends that were very important to him.  Dan had a gift for music and a tremendous aptitude for musical instruments.  He learned to play bass guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, harmonica and drums.  Music was the most important thing to him.  He eventually learned to write and record his own songs, singing and playing each part.  His dream was for music to be his lifelong career, but his battle with addiction and depression got in the way.   Dan made a point to always encourage his cousins to remain committed to their dreams.  He saved a close friend’s life once, proving that God has a plan and purpose for everyone.  Dan enjoyed spending time with his cats, and he was a light to everyone who knew him.

Over the years, Dan frequently made the observation how important family is.  Dan is survived by his parents, Mark and Minda; his older brother, Matt; his grandparents, William and Marjorie Chamberlain and Robert and Mary Miller; his aunts and uncles, Rob, Tim and Scott Miller, Rosann Chamberlain (Cal), Julie Chamberlain (Mark), and Paul (Donna) Chamberlain; and his cousins, Megan, Ashley, Tera, Ryan, Julia, Samantha, Taylor, Andrew, Patrick, Lauren (Shea), Joshua, Alyssa, Jacob, Sam and William.

Dan’s funeral will be Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 130 Losey Blvd, S., La Crosse, at 10:30 am, with visitation starting at 9:00 am. Rev. Samuel Martin and Rev. Peter Raj will officiate. A private family entombment will be held at the Catholic Cemetery in La Crosse.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Coulee Council on Addictions, Catholic Charities or Blessed Sacrament Church.

Angel of God my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light, to guard, to rule and guide.
