Donald W. Thorsen, 92, of Sparta, Wis., died Monday, March 14, 2016, in Mayo Healthcare, Sparta, Wis.

He was born in La Crosse, Wis., on Jan. 20, 1924, to Carl and Helma (Evenson) Thorsen.

He is survived by one daughter; Kathleen (Milton) Sans Soucie of Placentia, Calf., two sons; Patrick (Debra) Thorsen of Fountain Hills, Arz., and Michael (Laurie) Thorsen of Onalaska, Wis. five grandchildren; John, Michael and Michelle San Soucie, Anthony and Andrew Thorsen, one great-granddaughter; Isabella Stringer, and one brother; John Thorsen of La Crosse, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette on Feb. 10, 2003, his parents, one sister Eleanor Dobbs, and four brothers Lloyd, Carl, Richard and Gilford Thorsen.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 23, 2016, in the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home-Nelson Chapel, 1007 Caledonia St., La Crosse, Wis. Msgr. Steven Kachel will officiate with Entombment with military honors bt the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52, will be held in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Nelson Chapel. Family and friends may also call from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the Nelson Chapel.

The Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Homes-Nelson Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
