Edward C, Quackenboss

December 31, 1941 — November 5, 2017

Edward Charles Quackenboss, 75, of West Salem passed away on November 5, 2017 surrounded by his family.  He was born on December 31, 1941 in Plymouth, WI to Laverne (Lange) and Norbert Quackenboss.  Edward married Sharon (Allworden) on March 26, 1966 and had two sons, Michael and David Marshall.  The family moved to West Salem in 1983 from Whitefish Bay.

Edward served in the US Navy from 1958 to 1962, including service on the USS Douglas H. Fox (DD-779).  After his service, he worked in business until finding his niche in the equipment finance industry with M&I Bank in Milwaukee.  Edward brought his expertise in leasing to La Crosse where he founded Mid America Banklease Corp. in 1984 and worked alongside of his two sons for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, sons, Michael (Cristine) of Excelsior MN, and David Marshall (Heather) of La Crosse, grandchildren, Henry, Sam, Ryan, and Lily, and brother John (Sally) Quackenboss of Fond Du Lac.

Throughout his life, Ed enjoyed a Tanqueray, riding motorcycles, photography, bicycling, fencing, flying airplanes, sailing, and traveling.  Most of all, he loved his grandchildren who brought a sparkle to his eyes and were happy to play the Kentucky Derby Call for their Papa.

Special thanks to the staff on 7th floor at Mayo in La Crosse for assisting the family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, from 5 to 7:00 PM, at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Avenue South, La Crosse, Wis.
