HAUSER, Frances M.

Frances M. Hauser, 87, of La Crosse, Wis., died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, in Hillview Health Care Center, La Crosse, Wis. She was born in La Crosse, Wis., on December 25, 1928, to Paul Sr. and Abbie (Fauver) Mezera. She married Steve Hauser on May 7, 1949.

Frances was a graduate of Aquinas High School, Class of 1947. She worked at the Autolite and La Crosse Gauge Co. She then, with her family opened the Bait Shop on French Island for a short time. She then went to work for Sarah Coventry Jewelry and then became a manager for them. She then moved on to Queens Way to Fashion. Frances then opened Ceramics by Fran, which she had for 39 years. She along with her daughter have met many new friends and cherish the ones they still have today. Fran loved doing crafts, loved knitting, counted cross stich, and many others, and loved being in our Craft Club.

She is survived by her daughter; Cindy of La Crosse, Wis., one sister; Ruth Serres, sisters-in-law; Fern Hauser, Irene Hauser, Mary Hauser and Marilyn Hauser, She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Steve, her parents, one sister Elizabeth Fitzsimmons and two brothers Paul Jr., and Joseph Mezera.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home-Nelson Chapel, 1007 Caledonia St., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. Luanne Sorenson will officiate with burial to be held in French Island Cemetery, French Island, Wis. Family and friends may visit from 9:30 AM on Tuesday until the time of services in the Nelson Chapel on Tuesday.

The Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home-Nelson Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
