Javier R. Hall

d. November 2, 2019

Javier Ramone Hall was born on July 8th, 2001 in Chicago, Illinois to Lisa Marie Hall-Guy. Javier lived in Chicago’s Grove Heights neighborhood, and attended Schmid Elementary School until his family relocated to LaCrosse, Wisconsin. As a resident of Wisconsin, Javier continued to make frequent visits to his family and friends in Chicago.

Despite a difficult childhood, Javier was a very resilient and self-reliant young man. He was very skilled and talented in art, music, science, and anything athletic. His incredible intellect and keen all around understanding of life gave him a wisdom that went well beyond his 18 years. Javier was a self-taught champion swimmer. He was a tall, handsome, “fresh”, popular, and charismatic young man. He had a “swag” that was admired by everyone he came across. Javier was very quick to defend his family and closest friends, who were his world. He was a fearless leader and never ran from a fight.

Javier frequented the Boys and Girls Club and the YMCA in La Crosse, where he was recognized for his outstanding talent and skill in basketball. He aspired to become a professional basketball player one day like his favorite player, James Harden of the Houston Rockets. He was employed part time at J.C. Penney and subsequently worked at YouthBuild La Crosse. Javier attended Logan High School and later transferred to Western Technical College to obtain a high school diploma. He was scheduled to graduate in December of 2019

Javier was a faithful servant of The Lord, and in 2014 he surrendered his life to Christ, and was baptized at the Apostolic Church of God in Chicago. Javier, who was affectionately called “Javi” as a nickname by his loved ones, was EXTREMELY loved by everyone who was close to him. His love and dimpled smile is forever engraved in our hearts

Javier passed away on November 2nd, 2019 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Javier was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Alduffy McCracken, great-grandmother, Ruthy Lee McCracken, great-grandfather Leroy Hall, and his great-uncle, Adrien Osbey.

Javier will continue to live on through his loving immediate family, who refer to themselves as “The Majestics“: his devoted mother, Lisa Hall-guy, stepfather, Casey Guy, brother Anthony Hall, his beautiful sisters Kasey & Journey Guy, and Ariana Givens; his great-grandmother Jennie Hall, grandparents Larry and Carolyn Hall, great-aunt Louise Norrington, aunts Misty and Angela Hall, and uncle Dr. Lawrence Hall; his cousins Sydni, Ronald (RJ), Jason, and Jeremiah Johnson, Aiden & Ryen Nelson; his great-aunt Lauvero Osbey, great-uncle Robert Hopson, and Troy & Jordan Waltman. Javier also leaves behind an incredibly large host of friends who he loved, and who loved him like family. Though too numerous to name individually, his friends were invaluable to him, and we’re very thankful to God for the relationships, experiences, and memories they were able to share with him.

We’re incredibly grateful to ALL of our friends and family for your help and support, but we would like to give special thanks to Sarah Jackson, Trinity Lutheran Church, Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, the entire staff of the Boys & Girls Club, and the YMCA. Your vigils, donations, cards, flowers, candles, photos, and other symbols of outpouring love have helped us make it through the pain of this unbelievable crisis. We appreciate you all, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. May God bless and keep us all forever and ever more!
