Jeanne A. Fortek, 77, of La Crosse, Wis., died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, very unexpected in Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. She was surrounded by her family as the angels took her hand and showed her the way home.  She was born Jan 17, 1937, in La Crosse, to Orian W. and Ruth M. (Hickey) Page. She attended Aquinas High School and was a graduate of the class of 1955. She married the
love of her life of 55 years, Ronald “Ron” R. Nov. 23, 1959, in Trinity Lutheran Church, La Crosse, Wis. Together with Ron, they raised four beautiful children, two dogs, Rust and Rusty, and watched as their
children grew into adults and gave them seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren Jeanne was the 2nd of 6 children, always took the roll of a mother and always had a beautiful smile to share.  She worked as a nursing aide for several years before having children of her own where she was then
a She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who cherished spending time with her family and she was always there when we needed her.  Jeanne was an avid reader, loved doing puzzles, crafts,
needlepoint and was an all around gentle soul with a heart of gold.  She gave the best hugs, and made the best “Sloppy Joes” and “Potato Salad”!  She was a diehard fan for the Packers, Brewers and Badgers!!

She is survived by two sons, Daniel (Christine) Fortek and Tom (Becky) Fortek; seven grandchildren, Kristine (John) Hendrickson, Joey (Andy) Daley, Steven (Jessica) Fortek, Adam (Diane) Fortek, Bobbi (Ross) Pavelski, Rachel Fortek and Jordan Fortek; and three great-grandchildren, Logan, Nora and Sadie. Sisters; Peggy Weiland, Ruthy (Terry) Montgomery.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald “Ron” January 2, 2015, her parents; two daughters, Cindy and Linda Fortek; sisters: Mary (Bob) Garrity, brothers, John (Darlene) Page & Rich (Bev) Page.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in Trinity Lutheran Church, 1010 Sill St., La Crosse, Wis. The Rev. Erik Fieg will officiate with private family burial to be held in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home- Nelson Chapel, 1007 Caledonia St., La Crosse.
Family and friends may also call from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran Church.
