Dear Joan and all the Reiland family, our prayers and sincere sympathy to all of you at the passing of John. Always loved his smile and kindness to everyone. Jenny and John were our neighbors for many years. Our children played together and went to Emerson together. Those were some of the best years. Keep all your good times and memories in your hearts. Wish we could give you hugs in person but these are difficult times. Hugs and love to all.

Our thoughts are with Joan and the family! We enjoyed knowing Jack & Joan as founding members of the Continental Dance Club, which is still thriving. They welcomed us into their dancing 'family' when we moved to La Crosse in 1995. They could do the hop polka like no one else! We miss them both on the dance floor. Melinda Knutson & Dave Ford

Condolences to Joan and all of the Reiland family. Bev and I will forever remember how the two of you glided along the dance floor no matter what type of song was playing, Also cherish the trip we made with you to the Dells for a polka festival. Jack was a gentle giant of a man. He always had a infectious smile. God Bless him and Joan.

Working with Jack on many, many projects, both in the La Crosse area and beyond, first as design director at Hackner, Schroeder, Roslansky & Associates, later HSR, and then as one of the partners, I considered him clearly the anchor of the engineering group and specifically as the electrical engineering expert. He added a special expertise and reliable workability on such La Crosse projects as the original, Main Public Library, the City Hall, Logan High School, plus many others. His talents and attention to detail made him a very important, contributing member of every architectural/engineering team. He and I enjoyed working together for those many years, plus working at achieving excellent results on every building project presented us both with many opportunities. He enhanced every project as a challenge to be met, which he did, always with a friendly smile and a positive outlook. As the "R" of HSR, I especially miss his participation, plus that superb camaraderie! Roger Roslansky

A truly wonderful, kind and gentle man. I have so many fond memories growing up and spending time with Joan and Jack and family. Aunt Joan you have my love and prayers and support at this time. Jennie, Julie, John, Joe and Joni I share in your loss and want you to know what a wonderful father your dad was and how proud he must be of each one of you. I wish I could be there with you but the times we live in just are not making that possible.

Sending my deepest sympathies to Joan and the Reiland family. I have wonderful memories of staying over at your home when Joni and I were in high school. And through the years, my parents, Palmer and Donna Johnson, would tell me they saw the Reilands at the Moose...dancing the night away. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

During the years I was privileged to worship at Roncalli Newman Parish, I always found a warm and friendly welcome from Jack when we'd meet. His sparkling eyes and gentle smile made my day more often than I could count. He will surely be as welcomed in heaven as he will be missed here on earth.

I'm truly saddened to learn of Jack's passing. I worked as an administrative assistant at HSR in the early 90s, and Jack was one of my very favorite co-workers. His sweet smile and kind words meant the world to me, whether it was on a day when I was pulling my hair out, or on a quiet afternoon when we had time to visit. Such a lovely man - my deepest condolences to his family.
