Marjorie C. Nelson, 85, of La Crosse, Wis., died Thursday, January 23, 2014. She was born to Otto and Elizabeth (Asleson) Nelson of Waterville on December 22, 1928. Margie grew up on a farm and helped several families with babysitting while also helping her mother.

Margie grew up on a farm in Waterville and then came to La Crosse to work at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital for a short time as a Nurses Aid. She then later worked in at St. Francis Hospital in the Nursery department for 39 years, which she loved very much. She had such a love for children and people. She never passed anyone without asking them how they were or if she could help them. She volunteered for several years at St. Francis.

She is survived by Three Sisters; Alvinal Sickels of Roseville IA., Norma Mc Fadden of La Crosse, and Olive Marohn of La Crosse. Two Brothers; Kenneth Nelson of Clinton IA, and Howard Nelson of Camanche IA. She is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews.

Marjorie was preceded in death by two brothers; Orville and Arthur, and a brother in law Merlin Marohn.

The family would like to thank a special care giver Laurie Balts for all the special days she gave Margie. She always made Margie laugh and made her feel good about herself.

Margie will be missed by all that knew her. The family would like to thank Gundersen Lutheran for all the special care they gave her.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday January 29, 2014 at Connect Church, 3340 S Kinney Coulee Rd, Onalaska, WI. Friends and Family may call from 4 to 6:00 PM on Tuesday January 28, 2014, at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Homes, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, WI, and also from 9:00 AM until the time of services at Church on Wednesday. There will also be a service with burial at Waterville Lutheran Church, in Waterville Iowa at 1:00 PM on Wednesday following services in La Crosse. Rev. Jerry Hatlevigh will officiate both services, with burial to be held at the Waterville Lutheran Cemetery
