Mary Lou Endris, age 91, of La Crosse, died on Saturday May 7, 2016, at the Onalaska Care Center. She was born on December 14, 1924, in Springfield, Illinois, to Edward and Lucy (Kastner) Wheeling, the youngest of 5 children. She lived her whole life in Springfield until she married Bernard A. Endris on February 18, 1950, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield, Ill. They lived in Arkansas until Bernard’s work transferred them to La Crosse, Wis.

She worked as a legal secretary for 10 years in La Crosse, and as a trust officer at La Crosse Trust Company (now Trust Point, Inc.) for 20 years.

She is survived by her four children, Paul (Vicki), Edward (Patty) of La Crosse, Mark (Rhonda) of Hillsdale, WI, and John (Ivy) of Holmen. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Dana, Angela, Cali Jo (Ryan), and Nick Endris; one great-granddaughter Macy; two step-grandchildren Bradley Metzger and Nicole LaForte, and a step-great-grandchild, Jacob Metzger. She is also survived by 2 nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband on February 6, 2011, her parents and 2 brothers, Louis of Springfield, Ill. and John of Huntsville, Ala., and 2 sisters, Frances Wheeling and Regina Wheeling, both of Springfield, Ill.

The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care Mary Lou received at the Onalaska Care Center. And especially Missy who took lots of extra time and effort in caring for Mary Lou’s needs.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1032 Caledonia Street, in La Crosse. Wis. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate with entombment to be held in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, in the Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may call from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at Church on Wednesday.

Memorials may be directed to the St. James Endowment Fund.
