Maureen S. Buchner

Maureen S. Buchner died peacefully at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center on Tuesday April 10th, 2012. She was born in La Crosse, WI on January 12th, 1959 to LaVonne and Gerald Buchner. Although she was challenged with a developmental disability, she brought much love and laughter to those around her. She worked at Riverfront for many years and enjoyed going there during the week. She loved to be busy and would often ask, “what are we going to do today?” Simple things is what she appreciated the most such going to McDonalds, sipping a cold Pepsi, listening to music, sitting by the fireplace and just being around others. She enjoyed going to camp and going on trips with Riverfront and the La Crosse Parks and Rec. dept. Her mom took her on several trips to destinations around the country including an Alaskan cruise. She was all smiles on the numerous pontoon boat fishing trips with her sister, Renee, and brother-in-law, Ron. The family would like to especially acknowledge Renee and Ron for being her wonderful caregivers for the past 5 years. Maureen was a sweet and innocent Angel and will be missed by those she left behind.

She is survived by her siblings, Renee (Ron) Gruen, Paul Buchner (fiancé, Kris), Doug Buchner, Cheryl (Jeff) Kautz and Jackie Carroll (Gary Gamoke). She is further survived by nephew Shawn (Aubrey) Gruen, nieces Jessica (Alessandro) Picasso, Jenna Gruen, Megan and Samantha Kautz and by great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother Kenneth.
