I was a student at UWL in the 1980's. Doc was one of the best instructors I had. I learned so much from him, and his class was always interesting. I am sorry for your loss.

I am deeply saddened upon hearing that my brother, Robert has passed away. Growing up with my brother and my Dad, Herman and Mother, Rose was some of the greatest memories of my life. I will miss Robert. God Bless.

My condolences to all of Bob's family. I was one of his students at UW-L in Recreation in 1978-82. He was an inspirational teacher and I want you to know that I have been in the recreation profession since my graduation and now also teach in the field at UW-L. Everyday I use something I learned from him!

He was Uncle Bob to me, and I always thought he was a great guy. It was a time many years ago Uncle Bob’s family and his sister’s family (Jane Steuck Groom) would gather for so many happy events. From the holidays to staying at their cottage on the Mississippi. Even though I was always at the “kids” table with Uncle Bob’s daughters, Barb, Kathy and Susie it was a time that I will always cherish. My deepest condolences to all family members.

Joe and family. I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your father. He will never be forgotten. I can hear his voice cheering in the stands at our Pius basketball games and all through high school. I remeber him shuttling us all around to field trips in the suburban when we were in grade school. He had such a positive attitude when he was around us kids. My thoughts are with you and your family.

My deepest sympathy to Mr. Steuck's family. When he was the director at the student union, I was a part time student secretary. My desk was outside his office on the balcony. The union was brand new. I enjoyed working with Mr. Steuck, Mr. Strand and Mrs. Phillips who was the actual secretary. I admired him with his friendly manner. May you find the strength to meet each day.

My dad always had both an infectious smile that shone through to his eye and a laugh you couldn’t help but join in on. On the left, circa 1953 and 2015 on the right. Yabba Dabba Doo big guy.
