Robert W. Clement

January 16, 1933 — August 4, 2017

Bob died on Aug. 4, 2017, at Gundersen Lutheran at the age of 84.  Bob was born on Jan. 16, 1933, to Wallace and Lenora Clement in La Crosse, WI.  Bob resided the majority of his life in La Crosse with the exception later in life when he wintered in Engelwood, Fla. Bob attended St. James School until 8th grade and graduated from Aquinas High school in 1951.  Bob served in the Army from 1951-1953 and he was on the boat heading to Korea when the war ended,  therefore spent his time in Germany on the German-Czech border. From a very early age one of Bob’s loves was the outdoors, it did not matter if he was on the river or in the woods, that was his happy place. Bob also loved a good game of cards!

Bob married Adeline Hericks on Nov. 2, 1957, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 1998.  Bob and Adeline owned Elfman Marine and they both retired at the ripe old age of 52.  Bob married Janice Jungwirth Hericks on March 10, 2000, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 9, 2011.

Bob is survived by his daughters Ruth (Steve) Dunn and Mary (Randy) Mickelson, sons Jim Clement and Tom (Tania) Clement,  step- children, Bill (Marcie) Hericks, Lori (Paul) Schuh, David (Jeanne) Hericks, Sue (Perry) Boniek and Kevin (Melissa) Hericks, grandchildren, Eric Dunn, Andrew Clement, Kate, Hannah and Rachel Mickelson, Spencer, Ian and Ali Clement,  step-grandchildren, Amber, Heather & Kari Schuh. Allyson, Lynn and Daniel Hericks, Amanda, Mariah & Mason Hericks, Kylie, Tyler, Austin and Shawna Hericks.  April, Linsay & Courtney Boniek,  brothers-in-law, Dick Barrett and Herb Selbrede.

Bob was preceded in death by his wives, Adeline and Janice,  his parents, sister, Mary Barrett and many wonderful brothers and sisters- in-law.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM August 17, 2017, in St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1032 Caledonia St. Rev. James Altman will officiate with burial with Military rites by the French Island American Legion Post 417, to be held at French Island Cemetery, French Island, Wis.  Family and friends may visit from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass in St. James on Thursday.

Memorials are preferred and can be given to Aquinas High School or the General Fund at the La Crosse Community Foundation
