THESING Jr., Rudolph “Rudy” J.

Rudolph “Rudy” J. Thesing Jr., 81, of La Crosse, Wis., passed away in his home on Sunday, November 24, 2013.

Rudy was born on February 5, 1932, in rural La Crescent, Minn., to Rudolph and Gertrude (Boehm). On Sept 13, 1952, he married Lorraine Noyes at the Crucifixion Catholic Church in La Crescent, Minn. He was employed by Trane Co. for 43 years in Manufacturing and served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War. Rudy was a member of Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52, La Crosse, Wis. The Knights of Columbus #839 and volunteered at Gundersen and Mayo Hospitals for many years in the Pastoral Care Department. Rudy also volunteered with the La Crosse Nutrition Program and was an active member of the Men’s Club of Holy Trinity Parish.

He is survived by his wife Lorraine of La Crosse, Wis., five sons; Steven (Kimberly) of Stoddard, Wis., Warren (Sandra) of La Crosse, Wis., Michael of Madison, Wis., and Kenneth (Leslie) of La Crosse, Wis., Paul (Kathleen) of Stoddard and daughter-in-law; June of La Crosse, Wis., ten grandchildren; Travers, Wayne, Clint, Nikki, Kenny, Lindsey, John, Maggie, Jacob, and Bridget; and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister; Joyce Clements of La Crosse, Wis., and two brothers, his twin Roy, and Lewis both of La Crescent, Minn., and a special friend; Sister Mary Anne Ryan O.S.F. of Rochester, Minn.

Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, his son Thomas and two sisters, Dolores Demorest and Esther Mc Collum.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 27, 2013, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1333 So. 13th St., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. Rick Roberts will officiate with Rev. Larry Berger concelebrating. Burial with military Honors preformed by the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52, will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7:00 PM today with a Prayer Service to be held at 6:30 PM in the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may also call from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass in the Church on Wednesday.
