Beverly “Bev” Aponte, 78, of La Crosse passed away Tuesday Aug. 21, 2012 at Hillview Health Care Center. She was born Dec. 21, 1933 in Harvey, IL to Donald and Dorothy Hoff.  She graduated from Harvey High School in 1950 and worked for the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance Company where she met her future husband , Dr. Jose Aponte.  They were married in 1956 and moved to La Crosse in 1976.  Bev was a gifted seamstress and tailored beautiful garments.  She also loved antiques; traveling the Midwest with her husband Jose, looking for “treasures” for her store. Bev was very active in her Christian Faith, reading her Bible daily. She shared her faith with her family and those around her; she was a long time member of the West Salem Baptist Church. Her enjoyment included reading of literature as well as being outdoors.

She is survived by three sons: David (Joan) of West Salem, Jerome (Deb) of West Union, IA, Kevin of La Crosse and one daughter, Gisele Aponte of La Crosse, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jose in 2001, her brother Donald Hoff Jr., and daughter-in-law Particia Aponte in 2010.

Funeral services will be held on Friday Aug. 24, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. South, Pastor Rick Sella will officiate. Burial will be in the Stoddard Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.  Online condolences may be made at www.blaschkeschneider.com
