Brian James Hafner

Brian James Hafner, 45, of Waukesha, passed away suddenly on July 2, 2015, in Waukesha.

Born August 29, 1969, in Milwaukee to Eugene Hafner and Barbara (Smikla) Hafner, he attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School, was a 1987 graduate of Aquinas High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Marquette University in 1991. On November 14, 1992, Brian married Nicole Edwards.

He, Nicole and his family lived in Pewaukee for many years as he advanced in his career in asphalt sales. Brian was a true people-person and would brighten any room he entered. More than anything, he loved his children and his family.

Brian’s Catholic faith was also very important to him and he spent a great deal of time reading the Bible. His other passions were adventurous hikes with his kids, biking, golf and watching Packers football. Happy family memories include annual summer trips to Door County, outings to Brewers games, Florida vacations and Oktoberfest parties.

Survivors include his son, Nicholas of Roseville, CA, daughter, Hailey of Anchorage, AK, son, Jacob of Anchorage, AK, mother, Barbara of La Crosse, brother, Michael (Eileen) of Mt. Prospect, IL, and sister, Annette (Stephen) Flottmeyer of La Crosse. He is further survived by nephews, Andrew Flottmeyer of Rochester, MN, and John Hafner of Mt. Prospect, IL, and nieces, Anna Flottmeyer of La Crosse and Catherine Hafner of Mt. Prospect, IL.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Eugene.

A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Friday, July 10, 2015, in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church,130 Losey Blvd. S., La Crosse. Rev. Peter Raj will officiate, with burial to follow at the Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 PM Thursday at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Homes, 1501 West Ave. S., La Crosse, and from 9:30 AM to Mass at Church on Friday.
