Jim , it was indeed a shock to hear of Clara's untimely passing. We had spoken on the phone about a week before. She was concerned about my cornea transplant and wanted to know all the details. That was Clara. Always concerned about others more than herself. I could always expect a nice hand written card on every holiday and my birthday .. When Clara visited us when i would be back home, she was always first up, after my mom , and she was in the kitchen whipping up her famous "Biltmore" omelets for one and all . Clara waited til everyone else had their omelet , then she would have hers. Clara was a big girl and her heart was big as well. She faithfully stayed with you and you and Clara became one. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could keep friends and family laughing and laughing. Clara was kind to children and a wonderful teacher. So heaven has surely welcomed her with open arms. I will miss her and especially . Jim please remember you are my brother and i will always be there and care for you.

Jim, Alan and I were so shocked to see that Clara was gone. I will forever remember her bright eyes and wonderful smiles. Our hearts break for you. Clara was such a happy gal and even when we saw her in Tomah was full of good stories and humor. She went thru so much. God bless her. I loved her and will miss her. We did lots of shows together. The weather today will keep us from coming to her service but our hearts will be there.

Jim Alan and I were so shocked to see Claire's obituary notice in the paper. Now all I think about is the good times we had the shows all the laughs all the smiles. She was such a character I loved talking and visiting with her I loved talking and visiting with you and my heart breaks for you. It's hard when a pair becomes one but you have such lovely memories. She was a fighter I'm so glad we saw her in Tomah. I thought she looked pretty rough but she had been through so much I sure didn't expect this and I'm sure you didn,t either. With the weather there's no way we can make it to her funeral but know our hearts are there with you. Loved her. Alan and Catherine Ruedy

Dear Jim, Words cannot express our deepest and most sincere sympathy. We are devastated by Clara's sudden and unexpected passing. May your warm, wonderful memories of a virtual lifetime with your dearest wife Clara, the treasure of your life, fill your heart. Jim, you and Clara were truly the original soul mates. It was always "Jim and Clara" not "Jim", not "Clara" but "Jim and Clara". We are sure Clara is in heaven watching over you. Our family was certainly deeply blessed, absolutely enriched, and greatly honored to have Clara as part of our family for almost as long as most of us can remember. We will treasure the many wonderful memories of enjoyable times spent with Clara over a span of 47 years. Clara was a warm and welcoming person with a beautiful smile and laughter. Clara's passing has created a heartbreaking emptiness in our family. Love is immortal. Clara may not be here anymore, but your true love will prevail forever. May God bless you and give you the strength to overcome this deep loss and the courage to bear the pain. May Clara's soul rest in peace in her "Heavenly Home". All of our love and prayers, Bill, Ann (Jim's sister), Tim & Mike Porter
