Jeanne Elizabeth Shuda, 89, of La Crosse, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021.

Jeanne was born March 24, 1931 in La Crosse, WI to George and Emma (Brunner) Halseth.

Jeanne worked for Ellickson Studio and then for the La Crosse School District for many years before retiring.

Jeanne loved gardening, camping, traveling and outdoor activities. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She will be remembered for her canned pickles, strawberry jam and her famous chocolate chip date cake and Christmas cookies. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She married William Shuda on November 23, 1951. They were high school sweethearts and were married over 70 years. Jeanne graduated from La Crosse Logan High School in 1949.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, William, her children, Steven (Susan) Shuda, of La Crosse, Debra (Larry) Blum, of La Crosse, Anthony (Sherry) Shuda of La Crescent, Mark (Tina) Shuda, of La Crosse; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a brother, Robert (Betty) Halseth of Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Brian William Shuda.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bassing, the healthcare workers at Eagle Crest and Springbrook Assisted Living Facility. A special thank you to Kaitlyn for being with Jeanne when she passed.

A private funeral service will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at Blaschke and Schneider Funeral Home.

Jeanne was a kind, warm and loving lady. She enjoyed sharing an upbeat smile with everyone she met. She will be sadly missed by her husband and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Boys & Girls Club of La Crosse.
