Margaret M Muehlenkamp

Margaret M. Muehlenkamp, 100, of La Crosse passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Benedictine Manor.

She was born on March 1, 1921, to the late William and Amelia (Gehrke) Krause. Margaret graduated from Wilton High School and earned a B.E. Degree from UW-La Crosse. She married John Muehlenkamp. He preceded her in death after 55 years of marriage. Her son Terence passed away in 2011.

After 36 years of being an elementary teacher, she retired to travel and volunteer. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Assoc., the St. Francis Auxiliary, St. Ann’s Altar Society, a Eucharistic prayer partner of the Chapel of Angels and was always up for a good cup of coffee and vanilla ice cream.

Margaret is survived by her son Thomas (Bridget) Muehlenkamp of Center Valley, Pa., and her daughter Mary (Peter) Beke of Cherry Valley, Il.; grandchildren, Thomas Muehlenkamp of San Diego, Ca. Jeffrey (Annie) Muehlenkamp; great- granddaughter Marley of Catasauqua, Pa.; and granddaughter Maria Beke of Cherry Valley, Il. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Special thanks to the Benedictine Villa and Manor staff for their heartfelt care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1333 13th Street S., La Crosse. Rev. Rick Roberts and Rev. Larry Berger will concelebrate. A private burial will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Norwalk, Wis. Family and friends may visit from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at Church on Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Church and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. 38105.
