Marie Anita West, age 60, of La Crosse, died on Sunday, August 6, 2017, in her home. She was born in Madison on Nov. 17, 1956, to Kenneth and Edith (Skrenes) Kramer. She married Charlie West on May 22, 1976 in Rio, Wis.

When Marie was younger, she enjoyed working with her church and helping with youth groups. She sang in the church choir, and even sang in the Choral Union choir in La Crosse. She ran a daycare from her home most of her life, worked at the Company Story for over 6 years, volunteered at the hospital, and had a passion for Pastoral Care. Marie loved working with children, caring for her roses, caring for others and loved her family and friends dearly.

She is survived by her husband; Charlie West, her daughter; Amy West, three brothers; Don (Gerri), Dewey (Becky), and Dale (Sue) Kramer, one sister; NolaJoy Kramer, five brothers-in-law; Bob (Fran), George (Debbie), Joe (Sharon), Virgil, and Richard (Joan) West, and two sisters-in-law; Althea (Craig) Hensel and Charlene West.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Edith (Skrenes) Kramer, and two brothers-in-law Ken and James West.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Homes, 1501 West Ave. South, La Crosse, Wis. Rev: Joseph West will officiate with burial to be held in Oakland Cemetery in Dresbach, Minn. Family and friends may visit from 4 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, August 9, 2017, with time to share stories from 7 to 8:00 PM. Family and friends may also visit from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the Funeral Home on Thursday.
