Rudolph “Rudy” S. Olson Jr., 88, of La Crosse, died on Saturday, August 10, 2019 in Hillview Healthcare Center. He was born in La Crosse on May 16, 1931, to Rudolph Sr. and Stella (Rochester) Olson. He was raised on the family farm in Holmen and graduated from Holmen High School in 1949.

After graduating high school, Rudy was drafted by the army for the Korean War. While stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington, he married his first wife. They had four children together and later divorced. He later met and married Jeanette Allen. Rudy was a certified heavy-duty truck technician and served as Service Manager at La Crosse Truck Center-Mack for over 32 years, until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the American Legion Post 417 of French Island, and President of the 4-18 Club of La Crosse.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jeanette “Jeanne” M. Olson; his children, Debby (Walt) Carter of Stacyville, IA; Ronald (Michelle) Olson, of Kokomo IN; David Olson of Colorado; Donna (Mike) Wateski of Onalaska; and Roy Allen, of La Crosse. Rudy is also survived by 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, his sister Darlene Richardson of Chetek, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Lois Jacobson and Ruby Thompson, and one granddaughter.

Private family services will be held at a later date with burial taking place at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery.
