Sharon Rae Snyder, 72, of La Crosse, WI, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She was born in La Crosse, WI, on August 9, 1940 to Lawrence and Ida (Temp) Miller. She married Robert Snyder on April 11, 1959 in English Lutheran Church, La Crosse, Wi.

Sharon Graduated from Central High School and attended UWL before marrying Bob.  She worked at Sears for 41 years before retiring. Many remember her as the “shoe lady” who fit them for their new school shoes each year. In her later years she helped many customers with clothing.

Sharon enjoyed playing Bridge for over 40 years with her Bridge Club girls, gatherings with The “CHI-CHI Girls”, and playing Domino’s.  Sharon began reading mostly mystery books and received a special recognition from the Town of Campbell Library recently. She loved gardening and had many beautiful flowering pots every summer after retiring. She enjoyed many cruises through the years with family and friends. She was a Green Bay Packer Fan and enjoyed attending games and watching them on her big screen TV. Sharon loved to shop and take day trips with her friends. She enjoyed hosting Oktoberfest Parade parties on Rose St. and Christmas Eve.’s on Bayshore Dr.  Sharon had a loving, caring and generous personality. 

She is survived by her husband Robert of La Crosse, Wis., one daughter; Kelley Prise of La Crosse, Wis., one granddaughter; Lindsay (Brad) Ipavec of La Crosse, Wis., her mother; Ida (Miller) Coplien of La Crosse, Wis., one son-in-law; Brent Mann of Goshen, IN., and one sister Lorna Thurman of La Crosse, WI. She is further survived by her brother in-laws; David (Kathy), Bill (Sue), John (Barb) Snyder and sister in-laws; Kay Groth, Sally Snyder, Peggy (Jim) Fadness, Kim Ferguson, and Sandy Fox. Also are special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, and her 2 Yorkie`s, Trissa and Kiki.

She was preceded in death by her father Lawrence Miller, and her daughter Kathleen Marie (Snyder) Mann.  Grandparents, Catherine and Fred Miller, 2 Brother In-Laws, Jim Ferguson and Ralph Groth, a Sister In-law, Vicki Snyder, a nephew, Brad Snyder, her mother and father in-law Carol and Lee Snyder, and special aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM March 19, 2013, in English Lutheran Church, 1509 King St., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. Melinda Pupillo will officiate with entombment to be held in the Garden Mausoleum in Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7:00 PM on Monday at the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may also call from 9:30 AM until the time of services in English Lutheran Church on Tuesday.
