William “Bill” Charles Meyer, 89, of Onalaska passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019.

He was born April 10, 1929 to Harold and Mildred (Yeske) Meyer in Bangor, Wisconsin. He attended Vocational School in La Crosse. He was married to his wife, Eunice Gruen for 68 years. Together they had one daughter; Marla. Bill was the guy that would offer and be able to do just about anything from, woodworking, plumbing, electrical and auto repair for anyone he knew. He was the ultimate perfectionist. He worked for Northern Engraving and Gateway Products for 34 years. He spent two years in the United States Army from January 1952 to January 1954. Bill and Eunice enjoyed the many trips they were able to take with his cousin and wife, Harold and Shirley Yeske. From those trips; there were many special memories. Bill and Eunice also were a very large part of both of their grandsons’ lives; traveling to attend many, many athletic events through elementary, high school and college years; and also many trips to Sun Prairie just to visit his daughter and family and/or help Denny with projects around the house.

Bill is survived by his wife Eunice, his daughter Marla (Denny) Antony of Sun Prairie and his grandsons, Ryan (Lisa) Antony of Sun Prairie and Ben (Erica) Antony of Draper, Utah. He is also survived by his 5 great grandchildren Avree Antony, Kendal Denson, Ellie Antony, Griffin Antony and Braxton Antony; all of whom always brought a smile to his face and a gleam to his eyes.

Bill’s daughter Marla was by Bill’s side helping with his care right up until the time he passed and with Eunice even beyond. Also, Bill’s son in law, Denny was thought to be special to both him and Eunice.

He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him. According to his wishes; his body was donated to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for the purpose of medical education and research; which contributes directly to new understanding and discoveries that help future patients.

Please join his family and friends in a Celebration of Life in Bill’s honor to be held on February 23, 2019 at the American Legion Post 336 Hall, 731 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska from 1:00 to 5:00PM.

Thank you to the Hospice Care workers for their incredible care during his last days and to Mike Schneider; Blaschke Schneider Funeral Home for his personal attention regarding all that needed to transpire after Bill’s death.
