Alison Thimis, born in Ohio on September 28, 1956, passed away surrounded by love. She grew up in a lively home with her brothers Andy, Alan, and Aaron, and was the beloved daughter of Andrew and Louise Zatik-her lifelong heroes whose kindness, curiosity, and welcome shaped the way she lived.
In 1992, Alison moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin with her children, Ashley and Nick. There, she built a beautiful life-one woven with friendships that became family-because Alison truly never met a stranger. Her home and her heart were always open; if you visited once, you felt welcomed forever.
Alison was happiest laughing, floating down the river, and learning new things to keep her engaged in the present. She loved conversation and connection, and she had a special gift for bringing people together-hosting with effortless grace and making every gathering feel like home.
While this is not her last chapter, we know she is in heaven now-playing 31, meeting anyone who will talk to her, and being the best host, just as she always was.
Alison is lovingly survived by her children, Ashley and Nick; her grandson Parker; her brothers Andy, Alan, and Aaron; and the many dear friends she embraced as family. She is preceded in death by her parents and heroes, Andrew and Louisa Zatik. She leaves behind countless memories of laughter, kindness, and welcome-legacies that will continue to ripple through the lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at 1:00 PM at The Waterfront Cargill Room. Friends and family are invited to share stories, smiles, and the joy Alison brought to every room.
The Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
