Allen R. Walz, 65, of La Crosse, died Thursday, October 17, 2013, at his home in La Crosse. He was born July 5th, 1948 in Prairie du Chien, WI to John and Caroline Walz. He married Donna Betz on June 15th, 1968 at St. James the Less Catholic Church in La Crosse, WI.

He is survived by his wife, Donna and his children, Pamela (Bill) Burch, Caroline, Stephen, Phillip, Katherine, Rachel, Adam, Mark, Marilynn, Benjamin, Andrew, Susan, and Elizabeth Walz; 29 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; father, John Walz; brothers Dr. John (Margaret) Walz and Robert (Sue) Walz; sisters Jeanne (Roy) Zimmerman, Mary (Vince) Manning, Peggy (Dan) Sprosty; brothers-in-law Roger (Judy) Betz, Tom (Sharon) Betz, Brad Betz, and Donald Betz; sister-in-law Roseanne (Jim) Lynch; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey, granddaughter Jamie, mother Caroline, brothers Gerald, Nick, and Phillip and a sister Charlotte; brother-in-law John Betz and sister-in-law Marilynn Inge along with many nieces and nephews.

He was a devout Catholic who had become a consecrated Marian Catechist. He enjoyed playing guitar, flying, and golfing. He retired after 42 years of employment from Crown, Cork and Seal.

Visitation will be Sunday, October, 20th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So. with a rosary to be held at 4:00. A Visitation will also be Monday, October 21st at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1032 Caledonia St. LaCrosse. Reverend Robert Schaller will officiate with burial to be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in La Crosse.
