Barbara Starsky, 84 of La Crosse, died Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. She was born on April 2, 1937, in La Crosse to Frank and Alice (Reichgelt) Kendhammer. Barbara married Jack Starsky on Feb. 16, 1957, at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral in La Crosse.
Barb raised her four children and then worked at Cvikota Company for 30 years. She was a member of Mary Mother of the Church. She was a good servant of the Lord and had a kind, giving heart. She loved animals, playing euchre, and was a devout Packer, Badger, and Brewers fan.
Barb is survived by her children, Mark (Bobbi) of Amery, WI, Jeff (Pam) of Lincoln, CA, Jacquelyn (Joe) Cody of Caledonia, MN, and Andrew (Kelly) of Mequon, WI; 7 grandchildren, Joshua, Stefanie, Ben, Luke, Rachel, Katie, and Jessica; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Lawrence and Jane (Dave) Klawitter; and brother, Mike (Ellie) Kendhammer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; and brother-in-law, Norm Lawrence.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Mayo Hospice, Barb’s neighbor, Loretta Nockels, and Niece, Emily Grandt for the love and care they provided to Barb.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, in Mary, Mother of the Church Parish. Rev. Brian D. Konopa will officiate with burial to be held in Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse.
A Celebration of Barbara’s life will take place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, in the Hiawatha Room, at the Freight House Restaurant, 107 Vine St., La Crosse.
