Barbara Ann Lein Reisner, 77, of LaCrosse, WI died peacefully on April 22,2026 at Bethany St. Joseph's Nursing Home in LaCrosse after a brief illness. She was born in Hillsboro, WI on November 8, 1948 to Emil and Agnes (Machovec) Lein. When she was 4 years old, she moved with her family to Tomah, WI where she attended school and graduated from Tomah High School in 1966. She married William "Bill" Reisner on December 17, 1986 in Cancun, Mexico.
She graduated from UW Madison with an undergraduate degree in Anthropology and a graduate degree in Social Work. She later completed a graduate degree in Counseling. She worked as a Social Worker in Manitowoc, WI, LaCrosse, and Panama City, FL.
She was active in AA as a member and a sponsor. She had achieved 43 years of sobriety.
Before she died, she expressed her love for her friends and family. She found joy in nature and animals, loved cooking and baking, (always trying new recipes), enjoyed traveling and volunteering at the Coulee Region Humane Society. She was an accomplished flute player in high school and continued to play as an adult for a family wedding, funeral, and at Sunday Masses. She had a very caring nature and was a wonderful listener.
She is survived by her five siblings: Jim (Gail) Lein of Minneapolis, MN; Richard "Dick" Lein of Tomah, WI; Mary Lein of Wis. Dells; Catherine "Kate" Lein (Ken Zielinski) of Okemos, MI; Kris (Gordi) Jackson of Portage, WI; one daughter Amy Edwards and nieces and nephews Jen Lein (Devin Follingstad), Amy Lein (Randy Donohue), Emily (Dylon) Bijnagte, Krista Zielinski Feurst, Anna Zielinski, Tim (Sarah) Jackson, Nathan (Norma Merlin) Jackson, Patrick (Lynda) Jackson and many great nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 2017 and also by her parents.
The family would like to thank her three close and caring friends, Connie, Sara and Barb as well as Belsie from Comfort Keepers.
Visitation will be at 10 am prior to a funeral Mass at 11 am on Friday May 8, 2026, both will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1333 13th Street S., LaCrosse, WI
Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Church or the Coulee Region Humane Society.
