Beverly M. Jungen, 93, of La Crosse, Wis., died Monday, April 30, 2018, in her home. She was born in La Crosse, Wis., on May 29, 1924, to Leo and Myrtle (Bensen) Bohlman. She married Bernard Jungen and they later divorced.
Beverly was a self-employed seamstress that provided services for many cleaners and people all over the city of La Crosse for over 60 years. She even tailored a suit worn by President Gerald Ford. Beverly was also proud to be the last “single family home resident”, and the longest living resident in her neighborhood. She was looked on by many of the college students as their second mother in La Crosse. She very much enjoyed when the students would bring her gifts, spend time or bring her cookies!
She is survived by her son; Scott (Linda Kohls) Jungen of Holmen, Wis., five grandchildren; Jeff (Kristie) Jungen, Stacey Jungen, Chrissy Pittman, Joey (Connie) Updike and Jim Updike, 12 great- grandchildren; Cody Pittman, Courtney Pittman, Caitlyn Pittman, Adam (Josie) Filipiak, Eric Filipiak, Jordan Jungen, Jamison Jungen, Jackson Jungen, Allen Updike, Addison Updike, Kalyn Updike and Keegan Updike, three great-great grandchildren; Payton Lund, Nora Filipiak and Ella Filipiak; one sister, Mildred Herold of La Crosse, Wis., and one brother Gerald (Susan) Bohlman of Dayton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband Bernard Jungen, her parents and one infant brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 4, 2018, in the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Pastor Matthew Schroeder will officiate with burial to be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the time of services in the funeral home on Friday.
