Carrie L. Small

December 6, 1932 — April 24, 2022

Carrie Small, 89 young, passed away April 24, 2022, at Gundersen Health System surrounded by family. Anyone who saw Carrie described her as “Beautiful.” Carrie loved her faith, family & home. She raised 8 children; David died at 15 of muscular dystrophy. At age 47 she graduated from WWTC, worked 14 years at St. Francis Central Service, 3 years at Menards, and at her husband’s Bow Shop. Carrie bow hunted, camped & went to trade shows in many States. In woodshop she made a side table, grandfather clock, and cedar chest. Carrie cooked, baked, sewed, crocheted, knitted, babysat grandkids, and cut Phil’s hair. At UWL, she did 20 years exercise, 3 EXPAND. She was a devoted member of Christian Chapel, sang 12 years in the Coulee Gospel Choir and loved reciting “Psalm 23, The Lord is my Shepherd.”

Carrie is survived by her beloved, devoted husband, Phil Small of 38 years; her children: Debbie(Jim) Kennedy, Ashley Colter (Barbara), Patty (Gary) Germanson, Carol (John) Kringen, Audrey Newton, Mike Riesing, Karla (Nikki) Riesing, step-daughter, Linda Jelinek. Carrie has 15 grand children, 19 great-grand children, and 2 great-great- grand children. Special thanks to April Handtke & Pat Eveland. Thanks to family and friends who helped throughout the years.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 am at Christian Chapel, 1415 Wells St, Onalaska, Wi 54650. Family & friends can visit from 10:00 am until the start of the service. Pastor Craig Chappell & Bill McClure will officiate. Pat Eveland will sing at the service. A luncheon will be served following the service.
