Strasser, Delores

Delores Strasser, 83, of Stoddard, died peacefully at her family farm on Monday, October 21, 2019, surrounded by family.

Delores Margaret was born on June 26, 1936, to Arthur and Mary (Bahr) Becker. She was a lifelong resident of the Coulee Region; being raised on St. Joseph’s Ridge, attending Aquinas High School in La Crosse graduating in 1954; and settling on Chipmunk Ridge with her husband on their scenic farm.

She married Rudy (Dude) on June 5, 1956 at St. Joseph the Ridge Catholic Church.

During her early years of motherhood; she cared for her children, the house and the farm. After the children were in school, she worked at Sears for many years where she held several positions ending in human resources. She enjoyed traveling with Rudy to Hawaii, Mexico and especially Germany.

After her retirement she enjoyed going with Rudy while he played music at local nursing homes, crocheting, volunteering at St. Francis (Mayo Clinic Health System), trips to the casino, and time with family, especially Sunday dinners. In the last years she greatly appreciated watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoy the farm. The farm was her home and a place where all were welcome; family, friends and neighbors alike.

She always had kind and encouraging words for everyone and never revealed who her “favorite” was. She made everyone feel as if they were her “favorite”, but in reality she was actually everyone’s “favorite.”

She is survived by three daughters; Cindy (Bob) Klar, Julie Strasser, and Lorie (John) Kammel, two sons; Paul (June) Strasser, and Dave Strasser, eight grandchildren; Phil (Shannon), Steve (Erin), and Ainsley Klar, Andrew (Tiffany Troxel), Austin, and Aaron Strasser, Ben (Brianna) and Zach Kammel, nine great-grandchildren; Riley, Elie, Marcus, Mason, Ryann, Matthew and Hadassa Klar and Kayleigh and Sutton Kammel. Delores was survived by brother; Frank (Judy) Becker and sisters; Maryann Manhart, Kathleen Becker, Jancie Veglahn and Alberta (Clayton) Echan. Additionally she is survived by sisters-in- law Marilyn (Charles) Beahm and Sharon Strasser and brother-in law; LeRoy (Pat) Strasser and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

Delores was preceded in death by husband, Rudy and son, Bobby, her parents, and two brothers- in- law, Bernard and Ronald, and sister-in-law, Marion.
