Eldred Rahjes

Eldred Ernest Rahjes was born on August 28, 1937 on the family farm in Kanorado, Colorado to Martin & Goldie (Rathe) Rahjes. He passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026 in La Crosse, Wisconsin at the age of 88.

After the family moved back to the Agra, Kansas area in 1939, he attended Agra Public Schools. Eldred developed a strong work ethic working on the family farm that carried him throughout his career and life. He married in April of 1956 and to that union 5 children were born. This union later ended and he married and divorced twice more, before spending his later years with long-time companion Patricia Richards.

After retiring from long haul trucking, he enjoyed traveling the United States in his motor home and polka dancing.

Eldred is pre-deceased by his parents, sister, Stella (Rahjes) Borgmann, brother-in-law, Roger Borgmann, brother, Marlyn, infant brother, Dalyn, teenage sister, Evelyn, a son in infancy, Anthony Curtis Rahjes and daughter-in-law, Stephanie (Gary) Rahjes.

Surviving are children Peggy Barrett, Kathy (Dennis) Hisey, Ryan (Viki) Rahjes & Gary Rahjes, grandchildren Heather (Adam) Morris, Brandee (Kevin) Wilcoxon, Thomas Luckett, Davis Rahjes, Mary Rahjes & Carol Rahjes, 4 great-grandchildren, and long-time companion Patricia.
