Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Wiemerslage, 92, passed from this life on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Bay Harbor, formerly Springbrook, in La Crescent, MN surrounded by her family.
Betty was born to Raymond and Marjorie (Byrnes) Duffy in Dorchester, IA. She was married to Glen Wiemerslage on August 4, 1956, in Caledonia, MN and then lived in La Crosse their entire married life. They were members of St. Josephs the Workman Cathedral in La Crosse, WI.
Betty spent her work life caring for others as a Nursing Assistant at St Francis Hospital and at Bethany Riverside until her retirement.
Betty loved to spend time with her family and friends, camping, traveling and baking (especially her famous lemon bars). She always enjoyed a cup of coffee (cold or). Her son David will especially miss her mashed potatoes and gravy and her Ham gravy. We can’t leave out the famous Betty Beans (so yummy).
Betty had a special fondness for dogs right up until the end, (Thanks Sully).
Betty is survived by her son Dennis (Roberta) of Onalaska, WI, her son David (Sue) of La Crescent, MN, two grandsons and one great-grandson.
She is also survived by sister Theresa (Tessie) Johnston, of Houston, MN and sister and brother-in-law Lorna (Ron) Schock of Vacaville, CA, sister-in-law Vicki Cavanaugh of Caledonia, MN and several nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Glen (Squeak) Wiemerslage, brothers Mark Duffy and Robert Cavanaugh, sisters Mary Lou Heintz, Ilene Dougherty, Jane O’Brien, brothers-in-law Don Heintz, Jim Dougherty, Dave O’Brien, Tom Johnston nephew Steve Heintz, niece Jaynie Johnston and Barb (Duffy) Fish and great-nephew Cooper O’Brien,
The family wishes to thank the staff at Bay Harbor and St. Croix Hospice Team for their loving and compassionate care given to Betty.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, in La Crosse. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. A graveside service will take place at 1:30 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home is assisting the family.
