Guyal was born on March 12th, 1934 to Guyal and Agnes (Myren) Buckley on his grandparents farm in the small town of Hale, WI. He grew up in Alma Center, WI where he graduated from Lincoln High School.

Guyal had a distinguished twenty-year long career in the United States Air Force. “Buck” specialized in cryptographic maintenance with Top Secret and SSIR clearance. Guyal truly loved sports. When he was young, he was invited to spring training for the St. Louis Browns. “Buck” continued his athletic career in the service, winning multiple Base Championships in both baseball and basketball.
