James "Jim" D. Fema, Jr. age 65 of Genoa, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025 at his residence. He was born in La Crosse August 21, 1959, son of Shirley (Clements) and James Fema.
Jim married Dawn Wendling March 21, 1989 and together they raised three children. He lived in La Crosse until 1987, it was then Jim made Genoa his home on a farm.
Jim graduated from Central High School, 1977, and worked for City Brewery for many years, Gateway Foods, Griffin Tires and raised beef cattle on their farm. Jim also was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed hobby farming, camping with his family, listening to country music, going to concerts/festivals with his wife , but mostly spending time with his precious grandchildren. He was a member of the Chaseburg Rod & Gun Club and Ducks Unlimited.
Jim is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dawn, children, Jade (Ethan) Proksch, Lacey Fema and Dylan Fema, two grandchildren, Brantley and William and his mother Shirley Fema. Also survived by his siblings, Tony Fema, Dorothy (Scott) Schaefer, John Fema, Ivy Fema, brothers and sister-in-law, Roger (Patty) Wendling, Bruce Wendling, Steve Wendling, Sandy Wendling. He is preceded in death by his father, James, mother and father-in-law, Paul and Pauline Wendling and brother-in-law, Paul.
A Funeral Service will be held at 6:30pm Tuesday, May 20, at the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Avenue South, La Crosse, Wisconsin, with Pastor Silas Schmitzer officiating. Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 4:00pm until the time of the service. Burial will take place privately.
