James R. Asfoor

James R. Asfoor , Jim,  92, of La Crosse, Wis., died Wednesday, January 28, 2015, in his home. He was born in La Crosse, Wis., to Abraham and Lottie (Faroh) Asfoor.

 

Jim served our country in the US Navy. In his spare time he loved to Ice Skate and could be seen bicycling at age 91, enjoying his lifelong passion. Jim also loved music and playing his trumpet.

 

He is survived by his daughter; Julie Ann (Roger Oravetz) of Green Valley, Az., and one son; Jeffery (Abeeda) Asfoor of Blackduck, Minn. Five grandchildren; Tal and Ericka Tremaine , Aaron (Jill) Asfoor, Jenna (Aaron) Storbeck and Abe (Kim) Asfoor, and five great-grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers Mike, Joe and John Asfoor.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2015, in Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. James Kurzynski will officiate with burial to be held in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may call from 12:00 (Noon) until the time of services in the funeral home on Tuesday.
