Jane E. Schwabenbauer

Jane E. Schwabenbauer, 79, of La Crosse, Wis., died on Thursday, April 28, 2022, in Benedictine Living Community. She was born in La Crosse on July 17, 1942, to Arthur and Helen (McGrath) Brisson. She married George Schwabenbauer in St. James the Less Catholic Church, La Crosse.

Jane could always be found volunteering, especially at St. James Catholic Church, Catholic Charities, and the Warming Center. Her family was her pride and joy. She was so proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived to help others and was very selfless.

She is survived by her daughter Kathleen (Dave) Nichols; two granddaughters, Jenny Nichols and Mindy (Anthony) Sedlak; three great-grandchildren, Jordy, Alden and Lennon; and five sisters, Ann Pietrek, Lorraine Miller, Louise (Jack) Durkee, Elinor Thorud, and Barbara (Dan) Hurley. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband George, and her parents.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. South, La Crosse. Rev. Brian D. Konopa will officiate with burial to take place in Catholic Cemetery, at a later date. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the time of the Service at the Funeral Home on Tuesday.
