Brookfield

Joan Catherine (Larkin) Kluck, 94, of Brookfield, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at Brookdale Brookfield Care Center.

Joan's journey began in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where she was born to Isabelle and Raymond Larkin. It was also in La Crosse where she grew up, graduated from Aquinas High School, and trained as an X-Ray technician. She left La Crosse in 1953 and traveled to the West coast in search of love and adventure.

On May 26, 1955, Joan married Dr. Clarence Joseph Kluck, in Seattle, Washington. Their journey together took them all over the United States-from the coast of San Francisco to the mountains of Denver, before finally bringing her back home to Wisconsin. Joan embraced every new adventure with open arms. She loved the thrill of snow skiing, the quiet peace of hiking, and traveling to distant lands and National Parks with her family. A woman of faith and song, she also loved lifting her voice in several choirs.

Joan's legacy lives on through her children, Paul (Leslie Madsen) Kluck, Annette (Bruce) Winston, David (Bambii-Lyn Jarnagan) Kluck, and Maureen (Jeff) Minor; her five grandchildren, Kevin, Lisa (David), Steven (Natalie), Ryan (Jessica), and Bode; and her three great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Iona, and Serena. She remains in the hearts of her sisters, Marianne Holinka and Cecelia (Larry) Miller, and a large circle of extended family and friends. Joan joins in eternal rest her husband, Clarence, her parents, her five siblings, a niece, and a nephew.

The family would like to especially thank the staff at Brookdale Capital and St Croix hospice for the tender care they showed Joan over her final years.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial July 13, 2026 10:00 AM at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral (530 Main Street, La Crosse). A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service, with interment to follow at The Catholic Cemetery.
