John C. Forschler

John Clare “Zeke” Forschler, 88, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Bethany St Joseph home with his family by his side.

He was born on January 4, 1926 in Reeder, North Dakota. He married Joan Carol Forschler on Aug. 10, 1953, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in La Crosse.

Military Post World War II Veteran, recipient of the Purple Heart. John (Jack) retired from La Crosse Plumbing Supply after 42 years of employment.

He is survived by his children Linda Rayfield of Brownsville, Minn., Jim Forschler of Hokah, Minn., Joe (Karen) Forschler of Riverton, Wyo., Louise Brink of Rosemount, Minn., Heidi (Jack) Owen of Tomah, Wis., and Karen Danielson of Dover, Minn.; 15 grandchildren, David (Becky), Michael (Dewie), Amy (John), Megan (Jim), Jamie (Jenny), Janie (Scott), Rachel (Summer), Monty (Rebecca), Scotty (Emily), Ricky(Kim), Steven, Leah, Karl, Jordan and Cody, and 20 great- grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother Daniel (Becky) Forschler of Stacy Minn., his cat “Rask”, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ellsworth and Esther; infant sister Jane, loving wife Joan, daughter Jane, infant granddaughter Katrina Beth.

A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 15, 2014, in St. Patrick`s Catholic Church in Brownsville. Msgr. Steven Kachel will officiate and burial will follow with Military rites by Leroy D. Holzwarth VFW Post 6801, at the Veterans Cemetery, Brownsville, Minn. Family and friends may call Friday, March 14, from 4;00 to 7;00 PM at Breza Hall in Brownsville. Family and friends may also call from 9:30 AM at Breza Hall until the time of Mass on Saturday.
