John H. Leisgang, 79, of La Crosse, Wis., died Monday, September 26, 2016, in Mayo Health System, La Crosse, Wis. He was born on April 4, 1937, to Albert and Felicitas (Knothe) Leisgang.
John was involved within several capacities of the Boy Scouts of America. He held many positions within the Organization helping them to thrive for many years. John served our country in the US Army during peacetime. He was also a proud member of the 4th Degree Bishop Schwebach Assembly #1195 and the Knights of Columbus La Crosse Council #839. He was a Life Long Member of the St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral Catholic Church. John retired from UW La Crosse in 1997 where he managed students in the Computer Labs. He was a life Long Chicago Cubs fan, cheering for his team through thick and thin!
John is survived by many cousins and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, Sept, 30, 2016, in St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral, 530 Main St., La Crosse, Wis. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate with burial and Military Rites to be held in the Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may call from 9:30 until the time of Mass in the Cathedral on Friday.
Memorials are preferred to The Boy Scouts of America, St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral or the Aquinas Foundation.
