SONSALLA, Judith (Beirne) (Bjorge)

Judith Rae (Beirne) (Bjorge) Sonsalla of Arcadia passed away suddenly on Friday, July 18th at Gundersen Hospital in LaCrosse. Her family had the honor of being at her side and walking her home.

Judy was born in Galesville, WI on September 2nd, 1945 to Smith & Inez (Hegge) Beirne of Ettrick. She graduated from Gale Ettrick High School in 1963. She married Vern Bjorge and they made their home in the Milwaukee area and Arcadia.

Together they welcomed four beautiful children Dennis (Lead), Donnie, Dave (Boots) and DeAnne. She later married Randy Sonsalla and was blessed with the birth of her daughter Catie. Judy was an LPN who provided compassionate, loving care to many area people. Judy is survived by her father, Smith Beirne of Ettrick, her children Dennis (Linda) of Arcadia, Donald (Diane) of Fountain City, David (Kelly) of Arcadia, DeAnne (Sidney Nicholas) of Austin, TX, and Catherine (Chad Bremer) of Arcadia. She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren whom she thought the world of: Brandi, Trace, Trev, Sara, Jacob, Matthew, Kendra, Courtney, Marielle and Amaya. She is further survived by her siblings: Rita (Donnie) Becker, John (Susan) Beirne, Buck (Peggy) Beirne, Richard (Lisa) Beirne, Patti (Sam) Peschel, Paul (Alison) Beirne, Jane (Tony) Jensen and Zona (Andy) Kern. She is also survived by her loving companion Don Leibl and their four legged friend Luke. They spent countless hours together at Lake Richter, the place where she found the most peace. She is further survived by her aunt Avis Grambo, the Bjorge family, the Sonsalla family, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who were very dear to her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, grandparents, infant sister Donna, and niece Mary Sue. Judy loved her family beyond measure and found no greater joy than attending her grandchildren’s events and sharing time as a family.

She always had a good word to say, made the best out of a bad situation, and could be counted on to greet each person she met with loving kindness. Blessed be the memory of Judy Rae Sonsalla.
