Kathleen Jirsa

Kathleen "Kathy" Rose Weigel Jirsa, age 62 of La Crosse, WI passed away on Tuesday, July 22nd at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 12, 1963 in La Crosse. She was an exceptional seamstress, following in the footsteps of her mother. Her creativity knew no bounds. She was first and foremost, the best mother, sister, wife, and friend.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Gregory "Greg" J. Jirsa; her two loving daughters, Hanna Rose Jirsa of La Crosse, WI and Laura Ann Jirsa of Louisville, KY; nine brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Dwyer of New Orleans, LA, Jo Ann Froegel of West Salem, WI, sister in law Dori Weigel (David) of Madison, WI, Nancy Engebretson (Ronald) of Victoria, TX, Peter Weigel of Minneapolis, MN, Ann Weigel of New Orleans, LA, Priscilla Watson (Andrew) of Robbinsdale, MN, Tony Weigel of Darwin, MN, Benjamin Weigel of San Jose, CA, and Daniel Weigel of Madison, WI; father and mother in law, Gene and Sharon Jirsa of La Crosse, WI, sister in law, Nancy Jirsa Kumm (Neil) of Holmen, WI, brother in law, Mark Jirsa of La Crosse, WI and many very special friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Weigel in 2007, her brother, David Weigel in 2017 and her mother, Jean Weigel in 2022.

There will be a gathering to celebrate her extraordinary life on Wednesday, July 30th at Blaschke Schneider funeral home, 1501 West Avenue, starting at 4:00pm with the opportunity to share stories of how Kathy touched the lives of those who knew and loved her starting at 5:30pm.
