DEGNAN, Kathryn â€œKayâ€ M.
Kathryn (Kay) M. Degnan, 86, of La Crosse, WI died on July 12, 2014. She was born on November 16, 1927 in Minneapolis, MN to Joseph B. and Catherine M (Widmer) Logelin. She married John W. Degnan on June 12, 1948 in Winona, MN.
She was a member of Holy Trinity St. Anneâ€™s Society. She was a Charter Member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness of La Crosse, Co. serving for 26 years and Treasurer for many years. Kay and her family enjoyed many years of camping with the Re-Lax-In Campers. Some of the highlights in her life were raising her five children, decorating the house, and preparing meals for family gatherings every Sunday.
In addition to her husband: John of La Crosse, Wis., she is survived by two daughters, Ruth (Daniel) Mc Intyre of La Crosse and Barbara (Danny) Leoni of Rosemond, CA; three sons Paul of West Salem, WI, James and John (Jack) of La Crosse and one grandson Christopher Degnan.
She is also survived by two brothers, Donald (Lois) Logelin of La Crosse and Joseph (Helen) Logelin of Pinckney, MI, and one sister Clarice Bidney of Shoreview, MN.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Jeanette Schuh and Lucille Chichanowski all of Winona, MN and a brother Albert Logelin of Ann Arbor, MI.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 17, 2014, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1333 So. 13th St., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. Rick Roberts will officiate with Entombment to be held at the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, in the Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 6:00 PM at the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may also call from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass in Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Thursday.
Memorials are preferred to NAMI, the La Crosse Chapter of the National Alliance of The Mentally Ill, where she enjoyed bookkeeping and managing the household finances.
