LaVonne Penkalski

LaVonne “Vonnie” E. Penkalski, age 95 of Stoddard, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, August 13, 1930 the daughter of Esther (Boris) and Eldron Teal.

Vonnie and Russ raised three boys, Rusty, Ricci and Randy. She loved to garden, play slots at the casinos and was on a bowling team. Vonnie mostly enjoyed spending time at the cabin in Tomahawk.

She is survived by her children, Russell T (Jane), Richard (Lori), Randy (Sheri) Penkalski, grandchildren, Tracy (Gary) Temple, Kerri (Devlin) Moser, Tiffany Penkalski, (step grandson) John Merfeld Hengel, Brandon (Brittany) Penkalski, Logan (April) Penkalski, (step grandchildren) Ryan (Debra) Gleiss and Violet Gleiss. Great grandchildren, McKenzie, Elissa, Amanda, Caiden, Nicholis, Addison, Raven and Wesly. Also survived by her siblings, Jack Teal, Kathy Houston, Charles (Mary) Teal, sisters-in-law Marge and Ardis Teal and many nieces, nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Russell E., brothers Richard (Elaine) Teal, Jerry Teal, Francis Teal, Mike Teal, sisters Jean (Dave) Streicher and Mary Jane Watten.

A private burial is being planned at Calvary Cemetery, Tomahawk, Wisconsin.

The Blaschke Schneider Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
