Lila L Newburg, 88, of LaCrosse, passed on Sunday July 5th 2020 in Mayo Clinic Health System, LaCrosse. She was born in Mindoro, WI on April 30th 1932 to Harold and Lila (Ruland) Hanson. She married Freeman, “Lee” Newburg on Nov. 20, 1952,
Lila was a cheerleader in high school and an avid sports enthusiast, never missing a Buck’s, Brewer’s or Packer’s game. She loved children, especially her grand and great grandchildren. She volunteered for 24 yrs at the St. Francis Hospital Gift Shop and worked for 15 yrs, as an usher at the LaCrosse Center. Lila loved all the animals in the neighborhood and fed as many rabbits, squirrels and birds as she could. She could make friends with anyone and was very family oriented.
Lila is survived by her son, Richard and daughter Jeanne (John) Kroner; grandchildren Joseph (Jenna) Kroner, Kevin (Angela) Kroner and Jacqueline (Ian) Abston; Great grandchildren Charlotte, Collin, twins Nora and Natalie (Joseph,Jenna Kroner), John, Rosie and Charlie (Kevin,Angela Kroner).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman “Lee”, her parents, sister Lorna Collins and brother Harold Hanson.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, private family services will be held. Rev. Rick Roberts will officiate with the burial to occur in Woodland Cemetery, LaCrosse.
