ROCHESTER, Robert “Bob” D.

 

Robert “Bob” D. Rochester, 84, of La Crosse, Wis., died Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, in Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis.

He was born in La Crosse, Wis., on August 15, 1932 to William and Marie (Barrett) Rochester.  He married Rita Miles on June 7, 1951 in St. John’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Wis.

He retired from Trane Company in 1995 after 45 years of employment.  He served our Country in the U.S. Army.

 

He is survived by his children:  Robert J. (Pam) Rochester, Bonnie (Don) Nelson, Randy (Rita) Rochester, Steve (Sheri) Rochester, Mark (Diane) Rochester, Rick (Diana) Rochester, Paula (Arnie) Johnson, Julie (John) Houser, Terry (Sally) Rochester, Rita (Andy) Bakalars, Mary (Randy) Mooney, Tina (Steve) Skau, 37 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one, great-great grandchild.  He is survived by one sister, Grace Bashaw and four brothers, Lester Rochester, Cecil (Noreen) Rochester, Clarence (Joanne) Rochester, Richard (Mary Lou).  He is further survived by several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife Rita on January 22, 2000, one daughter, Lori Obert, his parents, two sisters, Stella and Dorothy, and two brother, Lewis and John.

 

Funeral services will be held 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home-Nelson Chapel, 1007 Caledonia St., La Crosse, Wis. Private burial with Military Honors will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, La Crosse, Wis. on Wednesday. Family and friends may visit from 4 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Nelson Chapel.

 

Memorials are preferred and will be determined by the family at a later date.
