Robert Lenser

Robert Lenser passed away on August 28, 2026, following an illness. He leaves behind his wife, Ruth, his sons Sam, Barry (Stephanie), Alex (Sarah), Jacob (Bridgette), his daughter, Katie (Travis), and four beloved grandchildren.

Bob was a devoted husband and father who loved his family more than anything in the world and demonstrated his love in countless ways. We know how much he loved us, and he knew how much we loved him. Above all, Bob cherished his wife, Ruth, and honored her daily throughout their 49 year marriage. They were always side by side. Bob also passed along so much of himself to his children, whether it was his strong faith, his work ethic, his generous spirit, or his love of sports. None of us would be who we are without him. We all love one another and believe in Jesus. This is his greatest legacy. We will especially miss Bob on Christmas Eve when he would read the Nativity Story from Luke 2 and enthusiastically hand out the many thoughtful and creative gifts he had for us. Bob found great joy in blessing others.

Bob had many fond memories of growing up on King Street with his three brothers, Mike, Kurt, and Karl. He treasured the time he spent with his Uncle Bob and Grandma Ida. He also had deep affection for all five of Ruth’s siblings and their families. And he was a favorite among his children’s close friends. Bob had a special gift for connecting with others through shared interests, common values, and his faith. He could easily turn small things into the basis for meaningful connections. During his years in the car industry, Bob formed many lasting relationships with coworkers, customers, and people he met along the way. Right until the end, he remained in touch with his closest friends and family members. Bob was beloved by so many.

Above all, Bob was a believer in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He lived a life of daily gratitude to God for all of the blessings in his life, most of all the gift of salvation which he knew was by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Just a few days before he passed he affirmed his lifelong faith in Jesus. He said, “I know Jesus.” These words, the testimony of his life, and the blessed assurance of the Gospel give us unshakable certainty that Bob is now in Heaven, alongside his beloved son Adam, where there is no more death or sorrow. We cling to the countless beautiful memories we have of Bob. We remember him as full of life. And we eagerly await a joyful reunion of our entire family in the life to come.
