Sarah R. (Wantoch) Doering, 34, of La Crescent, Minn., passed from this life on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, in Mayo Health System, Rochester, Minn. after a long, hard fight with multiple organ failure. With loved ones by her side and holding her, Sarah bravely let go. She was born in Winona, Minn., on March 1, 1984, to Theodore “Ted” Jr. and Lois (Rackow) Wantoch. Sarah was known by so many for her ability to create smiles and sunshine to everyone she saw. She enjoyed seeking local adventure by trying new things from hunting to crafts. Sarah used her cooking skills to deliver home cooked meals to loved ones who needed a “pick me up”. Sarah hated ketchup & BBQ, and loved to make people smile with her jokes that few understood. She married the love of her life, John Doering, by her bedside on October 16, 2018, in the Mayo Health System’s Intensive Care Unit.
She is survived by her husband; John Doering of La Crescent, Minn., her mother; Lois (Shawn) Becker of La Crosse, Wis., her father; Ted Jr. Wantoch of Onalaska, Wis., her mother and father-in-law; Dennis Sr. and Rose Doering of Brownsville, Minn., two brothers; Tony (Heather) Wantoch of Madison, Wis., and Tim (Ashley Martin) of La Crosse, Wis., her sister-in-law; Jenny (Kenny) Mulholland of Caledonia, Minn., and her brothers-in-law; Brian Doering of Brownsville, Minn., and Dennis Jr., (Chantel) Doering of Brownsville, Minn., her maternal grandparents; Harold and Judy Rackow of Winona, Minn., and several nieces, nephews, family and friends too numerous to mention.
She was preceded in death by her loving daughter on May 2, 2017, Sophie Marie, her sister Laura Wantoch, her paternal grandparents Ted Sr., and Olive Wantoch.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 23, 2018, in First Lutheran Church, 414 Main St., La Crescent, Minn. Rev. Chris Christenson will officiate with burial to be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Winona, Minn. Sarah’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Boot Hill Pub (St Andrew’s room), 1501 St. Andrew St, La Crosse, Wis., on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, from 1:00 PM till the final toast with food, friendship and memories provided.
Family and friends may visit from 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, October 22, 2018, at the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave., So., La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends may also visit from 10:00 AM until the time of services in the church on Tuesday.
