Sharleen Kay Timm

Sharleen Timm, 73, passed away peacefully at home on August 26, 2026, as she had wished.

Sharleen was born on October 10, 1952, to Opal Oleson and Jonathan “Johnny” Steele.  Sharleen graduated high school from Mellen, WI, in 1970.  She graduated from Western Wisconsin Technical Institute (WWTI) as a Health Unit Clerk in 1986. She worked at Trane Company for several years and later worked at Kwik Trip, where she retired.

Sharleen was a kind, honest, caring woman who was truly her own person. She was humble and appreciated the simple things in life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching movies, and reading, especially getting lost in a good book. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Sharleen deserved the world, but she never needed much to be happy. She was grateful for what she had and stayed true to herself throughout her life. Those who took the time to truly know her will remember her kindness, honesty, and the unique person she was.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Kornmeyer; her son, Timothy (Nora) Smith; grandchildren Brett Brown, Gavin Kasparek, Kaila Hying, Kaitlin Hying, Skyler Hastings, and Shannon Standiford; and siblings Nancy (Dave) Weigel, Dale McCumber, John (Cindy) Steele, Pamela Steele, Eldon (Pam) Steele, and Linda (Dick) Lehrke.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan W. Timm; her parents, Opal Oleson and Jonathan “Johnny” Steele; and siblings Billy Steele, Judith Steele, Jerry (Herb) Hafner, Betty Steele, and Richard Steele.

Sharleen will be deeply missed by her family and those who knew her.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home on West Avenue in La Crosse. A Funeral Mass will be held at Mary Mother of the Church Parish in La Crosse on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 10:30 am with a visitation one hour prior to the mass. Father Brian Konopa will preside.
