Sylvester "Silver" John Kamrowsk, 92, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026. He was born on December 19, 1933, to Stanley and Katherine (Rossa) Kamrowski, the youngest child of a large family.

Silver met Vivien Annette Johnson of Holmen, at a dance in 1959. They were married on September 7th of that year and later purchased property in Tamarack, just three miles from the farm where Silver grew up. There, Silver and Viv raised their family of six children and built a life rooted in hard work.

Over 55 years ago, Silver was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The courage, strength, and tenacity he displayed while facing this challenge will forever serve as a powerful inspiration to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a man of integrity who never gave up.

Although Silver's formal education ended after the eighth grade so he could help on the family farm, he was extraordinarily intelligent. He had an incredible ability to retain numbers and dates and could perform mental math with ease. He loved searching for bargains, proudly earning a reputation as a "wheeler and dealer," and was well known for his antique collecting. Silver had a great sense of humor, knew how to pinch a penny, and enjoyed sharing stories-he truly had the gift of gab. He was deeply proud of his Polish heritage, his Catholic faith, his asparagus patch, and the large gardens he carefully tended. His zest for life, generosity, work ethic and enduring spirit will live on in the many loved ones he leaves behind.

Sylvester is survived by five children, fourteen grandchildren, and four great‑grandchildren, including: his daughters Diane Johnson of Independence and her children Gregory Johnson, Asia Johnson, and Mathias Risler; Jo Ann Alvarez of Alaska and her daughters Novalyn, Sage, and Willow; Carol Hilleshiem of Marshland and her daughters Emma and Ella; Jillian Quandt of Winona and her husband Jeremy and their children Addy and Aiden; and his son Chuck Kamrowski along with his wife Sara (Wozney) of River Falls and their children Chance, Chayton, Chyncia, and Chase. His great‑grandchildren Marcelina, Alex, Sophia, and Veta brought him great joy.

He is additionally survived by his brother Albert Kamrowski of Arcadia, who was Silver's childhood hero and lifelong buddy. He leaves behind his in-laws Marilyn (Bill) Dick and Dave (Deb) Johnson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Silver will be greeted in heaven by his parents; his beloved wife, Vivien; his oldest daughter, Donna; ten siblings (two of whom died in infancy); and his cherished grandchildren Katie Johnson and Eldon Kamrowski. His siblings included Frances (Byron) Lee, Pearl Ann (Ernie) Morton, Margaret Swartling, Alice (Alvin) Gabrych, Betty (Dan) Kaczorowski, Barbara (Jim) Rohn, Celia (John) Prochowicz and Joe A. (Mary) Kamrowski. Brothers-in-law Adolph and LeRoy (Myrtle) Johnson and sisters-in-law Lorraine and Myra Kamrowski also preceded him in death.

The funeral service to celebrate Sylvester's life will be held at Sacred Heart Parish in Pine Creek on Thursday, April 30th. Visitation will be at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 and interment immediately following at the church cemetery.
